***Commentary***I Am Not Related To Cynthia Lynette Edwards

(At least I don’t think so.) Police have arrested 57-year-old Cynthia Lynnette Edwards, of Pahoa, after 20 years on the run as a fugitive indicted for conspiracy to distribute 200 to 400 grams of cocaine. Edwards hails from Florida. My clan on my father’s side hails from Wyoming and Nebraska, and North Carolina and Pennsylvania before that.

Lucky for both you Tuckers that neither of you is a fugitive hiding out from the law in the wild, western town of Pahoa. That darn Cynthia is dragging the Edwards surname into the mud. Needless to say, I wonder how police discovered her true identity. I can’t imagine they were actively seeking her out. Sorry, Kubojiri, you know how I feel about the state of law enforcement in Pahoa. At the moment, the potentially charming town seems to be a haven for thugs and derelicts. And the cops allow it for the most part, except on days they want to do a stakeout for seatbelt law violations by Pahoa Cash and Carry.

Peter: I think we are related to THE John Edwards. My dad thinks so. My dad’s side is from Highlands, so it depends on if John’s clan is from that little town atop the Blue Ridge Mtns. I wrote him a few years back, but he is apparently too high makamaka or too busy to respond to potential distant relatives. :). My great grandparents Bill and Sally Edwards left North Carolina at the turn of the century and headed west in their wagon to Wyoming where they homesteaded on Bedtick Road, just outside Douglas. Bill Edwards was a sheepherder and Sally had a handful of children, including my grandpa Bryan, before Bill bailed on her and the kids and went back to North Carolina like a total prick. Needless to say, the Wyoming Edwards clan never did have much to do with the North Carolina Edwards clan after Bill deserted Sally and the kids. Sorry, probably TMI, but family history is truly fascinating in my mind.
