Letters: About “Captain Cooked”

Famed Tiki artist Brad Parker and best-selling author S. P. Grogan are hosting a joint signing event at the Royal Kona Resort, 75 5852 Ali’i Drive, February 20th, 4 p.m. to sunset. Parker created the book cover for Grogan’s new mystery,Captain Cooked. The mystery novel will be signed by both artist and author and those purchasing Captain Cooked will also receive a free signed poster of the book cover artwork. Brad Parker, Big Island artist in residence, is well known for his brightly colored Tiki motifs, found in multi-media designs including art, prints, and even Body Glove swim wear and beach towels/mats. S.P.Grogan is the best selling author of Vegas Die. His latest mystery, Captain Cooked, according to a reviewer, is ‘if Janet Evanovich morphed into Rachel Ray while filming a remake of Perils of Pauline’. Subtitle is “Hawaiian Mystery of Romance, Revenge and Recipes.” Captain Cooked has recipes from 25 of the top chefs and restaurants on The Big Island, and the book even has an embedded GPS treasure hunt for those who wish to tour the island. Any help you can give us to remind your fan base that Mr. Grogan will be on island on a book signing tour.  A portion of book sales proceeds goes to Big Island Food Basket Program.
What is important is that the story features all local contacts, top island chefs and restaurants, tour of island, and local artists. showcased like Kathy Long, Herb Kane, and Brad Parker.
