    WTH?

  • James Weatherford Says:

    “improvements”
    ;)

  • anon 267 Says:

I suspect ADA found the sidewalk a few inches off.

This palace was bid at 45 million came in at 90 million.

    Tax payers money.

The black marble art in the parking lot was 400k and came from China.

The parking meters only give you one hour.
Violations for expired meters are swift.

    What is four stories below?
    Some say the Pacific Guantanamo.

Curious what DAGS’ excuse might be this time.

  • Tom Lackey Says:

Stick a JURY DUTY 2012 piece of paper on your dashboard and park for free… Oh that would be cheating our government out of a buck.

    The Lack

  • Pete Altomare Says:

    Business as usual.

  • Rene Siracusa Says:

Lot’s a assumptions and guesses above. How about a little fact-finding first? How come you didn’t follow through, Tiff? Personally, I like a clear target before I start throwing stones.

  • Tiffany Edwards Hunt Says:

How come I didn’t follow through? Would you like me to give you a summation of all my activities this week?
This is labeled a photo of the week.
It’s meant to probe your curiosity and document what I believe to be a greater story that needs probing. This week I didn’t have time to offer you any more.
Honestly, Rene, it won’t be until next week at the earliest before I have time to try and get a hold of DAGS to ask them for more information about the sidewalk outside the Judiciary being torn up.
If anyone has a desire and willingness to collect some facts, by all means go for it.
I’m certainly not possessive when it comes to news gathering and, as you know, I’m happy to publish your work.

  • Rick Says:

To add to what Rene said, simply amazing the conclusions people jump to. All negative.
And in addition, difficult to tell which side of
the building is pictured. I suspect the side facing
the county building housing the prosecutors, etc. but in any case there may well be a good reason for the work being done. Or it may be the tip of the iceberg in another scandal.

  • Brian Jordan Says:

I just finished working a govt. construction job. The quality was horrorific and the firm said poor quality just happens. I informed them and the government inspector perhaps the taxpayers should forget to pay fully. I mean poor payment just happens. Before we suspect nothing is wrong, let us remember the roof leaked. The roof after 28 million leaked in the old County bldg. also. The Survey of the Judicial building was off. How do you screw up a govt. owned piece of lands survey? The County complex next store whoes price of construction inflated time and again. Hey but we only forgot to build a room for the Council. If this is an addition or chosen change. During these times is this really necessary.

  • James Weatherford Says:

“poor payment just happens” — thanks, Brian, LOL :)
It seems all too common: the County and State pay more and more and still get flawed work.
Could that explain any cynicism detected above?
There has got to be a better way.

  • Pete Altomare Says:

    Procurement and contract administration.
    Do we have it?
Brian and James, thank you for your observations.

  • Tom Lackey Says:

I think that they are looking for Jimmy Hoffa

    The Lack

  • HILO35 Says:

This is insight into the status quo playbook on how to create jobs.

  • Brian Jordan Says:

James I should publicize the photos. Or send them to Congress. However I’d want something done.
Stephens will never get the photos, they would misuse them to destroy a person instead of the systemic problems. Congress? Why bother, witty remarks are no longer funny.
