This is Matthew Tilfas. He was the subject of a Hawaii Acres neighborhood watch meeting Friday, Aug. 2. According to Hawaii Police Department’s community policing officer Willy Brown, Tilfas is wanted on multiple warrants, has previously spent time behind bars, and is suspected of burglarizing multiple properties in Hawaiian Acres. Brown asked Hawaiian Acres residents to be on the look out for Tilfas, who could be staying on land in the area between F and G and 4 and 7 Roads. Tilfas has tattoos on both sides of his arms and may be in a black full size pickup, possibly a Ford, with oversized tires. Anyone with information on Tilfas’ whereabouts should immediately call police at 935-3311 or 911, if in imminent danger. Brown also urged residents to actively protect their property by shutting and locking gates and securing homes. He also spoke of the need to proactively post “no trespassing” signs and “beware of dog” signs, in order to protect yourself against any potential liability from an intruder.
