Aloha Friends and Music Fans,
Most of you may know about my two upcoming “Birthday Bash for Johnny Cash” shows on the 20th and 27th of this month, the first at S.P.A.C.E. in Seaview, Kalapana, and the second at East Hawaii Cultural Center in Hilo.
Both of these venues are wonderful spaces for performance, and the shows are going to be sensational, but the professional promotion I thought I had hired out has completely fizzled, so it looks like there won’t be any newspaper articles or radio interviews or any other media buzz that will help to sell the minimum 100 seats for each show that we need to make this venture a happy success.
So I turn to you to use the grassroots power of e-mail and friendship, and ask your help to promote these two shows. If you’ve enjoyed my music and you like Johnny Cash’s legacy, please let your friends and e-mail lists know about these shows, and plan to come with as many friends as you can. Advance tickets for both shows are available, and it’s advance ticket sales that will help us to see whether we’re in the ball park yet. EHCC in Hilo has sold a few tickets, but because we have had no promotion at all in Puna, neither Jungle Love nor Book Buyers (both in Pahoa) have sold any tickets yet for the show at S.P.A.C.E.Last year’s Birthday Bash for Johnny Cash was a huge success and a really enjoyable evening for everyone who attended. Like last year, I have once again found a beautiful young singing partner to help me with some of the June Carter duets and a few other songs. And this year, her name is actually June! Come meet her and join us for some of the best country and folk music of the last century
Next year, I hope I don’t have to enlist your help to promote the show, but anything you can do this time will be greatly appreciated! I don’t think you’ll regret it.
Mahalo always,
Bo
