By every indication, the lower Puna community has outgrown its post office in Pahoa. We can work toward obtaining a new post office by submitting written please to our congressional delegation.

Please?
Just ribbing you…
That picture of the post office isn’t a very long line… but it sure can be.

Our Pahoa postmistress reported to the Nanawale Community Association a couple of years ago that a new Pahoa post office was in the top 5 regarding USPS CIP priorities until the Bush Administration axed it (due to the costs of the war???) Now, I’m not aware of which top 5 priorities…regionally, nationally or what but construction of a new Pahoa p.o. was in the plans. Maybe we could ask her for an update of the info. Or we could all lobby for the previously planned construction to be placed on list for the Feds’ stimulus package!

I believe the USPS already owns a parcel of land near the Malama marketplace, so “all” that’s left is the funding!

What pisses me off are the inconsiderate people that park illegally, blocking the exits and causing gridlock.
