    (Media release) — The Hawaii County Office of Aging announces the presentation of “Powerful Tools for Caregivers,” a class beginning at 1p.m., Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Kahi Malama, the Aging and Disabilities Resource Center located at 1055 Kinoole Street in Hilo.

    The class runs two-and-a-half hours and meets weekly on Mondays, 1-3:30 p.m. Developed by Legacy Health Systems in Portland, Oregon, this evidence-based class focuses on the family caregiver and the challenges those caregivers face.

    Led by Sally Wehrsig, a program planner with the Hawaii County Office of Aging, the course is designed to provide tools to caregivers that give them the power to manage their situations and their reactions to their caregiving experience.
